what make you so interesting

Let's face it, most of us are leading rather ordinary lives, with little day-to-day excitement. When someone asks us what we have been doing lately, our usual response is, "not much, things are hectic, just been busy working. " However, on the rare occasion we do meet those people who are interesting, they have real stories and adventures to share - and have interests outside of their work.

"Ask a few random people what their hobbies are - most will by default say 'reading' - for lack of a better option. Ask them the last book they read in full - for pleasure - and they will really struggle to remember it ... "

Time is limited for us all, however, travel, music, literature, sports, dance, films, travel, drama, painting, writing, social service - shouldn't just be things we used to do when we were younger. These are just a very small number of pursuits that can enrich our lives, give us new ideas, allow us to meet new people, and form meaningful lifelong relationships.

Often our careers define who we are; we are stereotyped and labeled according our professions. However, it is not our work that make us interesting - rather it is our life and how we choose to live it. And each of us has unique gifts and talents, either lying dormant within us - or those that are yet to be explored. Having a wide range of interests will no doubt make our lives (and conversations) more interesting and enriching. They will also allow our minds to stay refreshed, active and creatively challenged - bringing new perspectives to our lives.
